LIE #1: You are not good enough.
You’re not a good mother; a good wife; a good employee; a good friend. You’re not pretty enough; thin enough; rich enough. You are a screw up, worthless, and not worth loving. We’ve all repeated hateful words like these to ourselves at one time or another. The enemy is just waiting for you to plant the seed of doubt so he can confirm our secret fears. He will use TV, magazines, the Internet, even your loved ones to confirm those fears. He is sneaky that way.

TRUTH #1: You are more than enough. You have been redeemed.
Lamentations 3:22-23 tells us, “The fruitful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his fruitfulness; his mercies begin a fresh each morning.” You are forgiven…every morning. You have been shown grace…every morning. Every morning you get to start a new. Because Christ paid the ultimate price for your sin, you are forgiven. You have been remade.
You are enough. You are enough. You are enough. Got it? Good, let’s move on.

LIE #2: Everyone else is doing it.
So what? Who cares? Cheating on your spouse? Yeah, so is everyone else. Want proof…just turn on the TV or pick up a celebrity magazine. Actually, when you hear of your friend whose marriage is crumbling from infidelity, you’re not surprised, it’s normal. Everyone has split families now days. Worshiping celebrity reality show “stars” doing immoral, illegal, and disgraceful things? So what…it makes for great TV, the ratings are great. Everyone watches porn now and then. What’s the big deal? Marijuana is legal. Smoke up, Colorado!

TRUTH #2: “Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong.” Exodus 23:2
Who of us haven’t felt the pressure of the crowd (or society) and blindly followed, even though in our hearts we knew it wasn’t right? The enemy counts on your resistance to go against the crowd. He uses that to his advantage.
The ultimate example of “going with the crowd even though it was the wrong thing to do” was Pontius Pilate. Pilate knew crucifying Jesus was wrong, but he was a people-pleaser, lacking courage and conviction to do the right thing. He went with the wishes of the non-believing majority.
The mom in me would ask, “If your friends jumped off a bridge, does that mean you should too?” When faced with a dilemma of choosing between right and wrong, do what Jesus did, and turn to scripture. Three times Jesus was tempted by Satan, three times he turned to the Word to defeat the enemy. (Matthew 4:1-11).
My child, if sinners entice you, turn your back on them.” Proverbs 1:10-19 (read all 10 verses here.)
I would also say, “just because you can do it, doesn’t mean you should…nor does it make it the right thing to do.”
When you are faced with following the majority down the wrong road remember this:
God + One = Majority

LIE #3: You don’t have enough faith.
The enemy whispers, “You don’t pray enough, that is why He is not answering. You don’t believe enough, that is why your loved one is not healed. The praying hasn’t helped you. You don’t need him anyway.” Oh, the enemy is really sneaky! He gets in your head, preying on your weaknesses. He preys on your secret fears and lack of confidence.
TRUTH #3: Spiritual attacks only mean that YOU ARE A THREAT.
Because you are a follower of Christ, you are a threat to the enemy! Believe it. Know it. Walk it. Be on guard. The enemy delights in your floundering; your anxiety; your stress; your financial hardships; and even your bad days. The enemy loves it when your defenses are down, and that is the perfect opportunity for him to pounce!

Guess what? You have one thing the enemy doesn’t…
Communication with the Almighty Commander-in-Chief.
Stay in the Word. Stay in communication with Him. Keep your shield of faith on you at all times. (Philippians 4:13)
They say there is strength in numbers. But, really you need only the great I AM to have your back. Together you can beat the enemy.

Dear Lord, You are the redeemer. The Almighty Commander. Please help me to stay strong in You. Help me deflect the lies, and hear the truth. In my moment of weakness I ask that your whispers of truth will be louder than the enemies whispers of lies. In Christ’s name I pray, Amen.
***BTW: Just because Colorado legalized marijuana, doesn’t mean we are all high.

So true! Sometimes we forget that, even though we may hear the lies of the enemy, we don’t have to keep listening. We can tune in to our “Almighty Commander in Chief.” I like that you used that title to convey the power of God. To remind me that He is in charge and His is the only voice I should be following. Blessings!

Kristin, sleepless nights are another why the enemy attacks. When we are tired it’s hard to hear His whispers. From one woman to another…get some sleep and take care of yourself!

#1 is certainly a problem these days. I hear it from so many women. When did we begin believing the lie we must be like everyone else. Thanks for speaking truth. Checking in from Holley’s site!

I know! Women believe the lie so much these days. I was one of those women…and some days I still have to fight the lies. But, if we women stick together we can break the cycle. Thanks for stopping by.
