You Are Not Alone

You are not aloneI took this photo last fall on a trip to Guanella Pass, Colorado.

At the summit, it is quiet.

As in total silent.

Just the wind and my breath.

Peaceful and fresh.

Smells of snow.

Standing on top of the world I realized two things: It’s freakin’ cold, and I am not alone.

I am physically standing alone; taking in the wonder of this glorious mountain. But, I am not really alone.

We all struggle. We all suffer. We all want to give up sometimes.

But, once we confess our struggles to others, we find there are others climbing the same mountain.

There is community is sharing our same struggles.

If you are struggling with something in your life, share it with somebody, anybody. There is a strength that comes in numbers. There is a strength in community. You can’t do it alone.

Of course, there is the Almighty number one who shares in your struggles yesterday, today and tomorrow. The One who created that glorious mountain. Lay your struggles at His feet. He doesn’t want you to go it alone. He made that community for you.

You are not alone.

  1. Beautiful picture! I love and believe what you said about community. We have to talk about our “things,” big or small, successes and failures, truths and not so truths. Sharing, confessing, healing, and sometimes just venting. We read the word of God with community, and we know that we are not alone, through Him, in our sisters stories. Thank you for the encouragement.

    1. Thank you, Beatriz for stopping by. It is true that we need community. Without it, we can feel even more alone.
