I Love You.
The three sweetest words in the English language.
My daughters and I have a little nightly tradition.
At night I say to Alexandra, “I love you all the way to the moon and back.”
She says, “I love you all the way to the moon and back 400 times.”
Then, I say, “I love your all the way to the moon, all the way to the bottom of the ocean and back 700 million times.”
And we will keep trying to prove we love each other more.
Alexandra won’t let me say the “moon” saying to her little sister. We can’t “copy her”. So, Parker and I needed to find a new saying. (Sigh.)
At bedtime I say to Parker, “I love you more than all the stars in the sky.”
She says, “I love you more than all the fish in the sea.”
Then, I say, “I love you more than all the penguins in the zoo.”
And, she says, “I love you more than all the butterflies in the garden.”
And so on.
What special ways do you say, “I love you”?
