Cupcake Ornaments

I have to apologize for the late Christmas ornament post, but we made three dozen of these cupcake ornament with everyone on our gift-giving list getting one (or two). I didn’t want to spoil the surprise for those gift-receivers.

CUPCAKE ORNAMENTS HOW TO | These are super easy to make. You will need a tub of Drywallk Compound at your local hardware store, hot glue, ornaments (glass or plastic), cupcake wrappers, red jingle bells, small glass beads (found in the jewelry isle) and a pastry bag.

Cute in any color

Hot glue the bottom of the ornament into a cupcake liner. Load the drywall compound into the pastry bag like you would frosting. “Frost” the ornament like a cupcake. Use a plastic spoon to smooth out the compound a bit. Sprinkle with beads, add a jingle bell cherry.

I like the glitter the best

Place the ornaments in cupcake tins to let dry overnight. Once the compound hardens you can add a cute hook.

Alexandra and I did the frosting of the ornaments. Parker was in charge of the sprinkles and cherry jingle bell. That is the perfect “job” for little hands who really want to help but can’t manage the frosting without getting it all over your table, and themselves!
