Through the Weekend Lens

It was a busy weekend here. Isn’t it always? We finally got rain on Sunday. It drizzled until about 3 pm and then the sun came out to make it a muggy afternoon. Colorado seriously needs the moisture. I complain it doesn’t rain enough here. I think I could live in Seattle because I love the rain so much!

On Saturday, hubby woke up invigorated because he was ready to finish our backyard project that has sat untouched since last fall. He is a landscaper and yet he never seems to have time to work on his own landscaping.

We all loaded up in the truck an headed to James Nursery. If you live in Denver, they have the best plants in town!

After a quick stop at 7-11 for a Slurpee, picking out plants is exhausting, we brought our selection of plants home.

About 3 hours of hard work we went from this:

These fish belonged to our late friend, Ed. They are hand-carved marble he had shipped from Thailand.

School supply shopping:

School supplies from Target (this doesn’t include the Clorox wipes, baby wipes, Kleenex, paper towels, or hand sanitizer that is also on the list).

Backpacks from Walmart.

I also had a girls night of sewing on Saturday. We made skirts. We ordered pizza, drank wine and ate Weight Watchers cheesecake bites. Sherri, my neighbor sewing-guru, was giving the ladies a lesson. We couldn’t finish the skirts because her surger broke. Not my fault. I’ll have to post that later. Finally, a night without the guys or kids. Although Alex had to text me to check up.

Sunday: Church, organizing Alex’s bedroom, grocery shopping…

Hope you all had a great weekend too!
