This weekend was oddly full of overwhelming emotions. Sadness, shock, and fear. You may have heard about the 10-year-old girl, Jessica Ridgeway who is missing in Colorado.
This happened very close to our home.
I don’t know the Ridgeways personally, but our oldest daughter and Jessica have friends in common, so they have played together. Even though I haven’t met Jessica’s mother, I can only imagine what she is going through; our oldest daughter is 10-years-old too. My heart aches for her family and her friends.
How do you explain to your children this is the world we live in? Honestly. I have been honest with my kids. They are a little freaked out, but they just keep praying that Jessica comes home soon.
