Are You Checking Me Out?

Found this hanging out upside-down by my front door today. I think he was checking me out.

Are Praying Mantis native to Colorado? My neighbor thought not; but after a bit of Google-research I figure this is most likely a Carolina Mantis. There are 6 species of Mantis in Colorado. Who knew? {not my neighbor…haha}

Fun facts: Praying Mantis are carnivores, feeding mostly on insects. They can articulate their head up to 300 degrees. Their vision is binocular, like humans. And they’re freaking cool!
