I am so ready to paint the kitchen. It is now a sunny yellow. I love yellow but I feel I have outgrown it. Sadly, I can’t seem to muster the energy to actually paint! Instead I look at the paint swatches taped to the wall…taunting me.
I did find enough energy to get a little crafty and revamp this chalkboard. It was a cheap chalkboard I got years ago. The frame was old and discolored. I repainted the frame white and added a cleaver saying to it in chalk and hung it in the kitchen. Last week the saying was: “Keep Calm and Carry On.” Cute, no?
Last week I bought Valentine cake mixes on clearance at Target (75% off). What to do with them? I saw this cleaver idea on a blog many months ago. I put a Spring Oreo in the bottom of the cupcake paper, added the cake mix (minus the Valentine sprinkles) on top of the cookie and bake as per instructions. Viola! Overly sweet cupcake surprises.
And who doesn’t love the holiday Oreo cookies anyway? I don’t know what they do to them but the stuffing seems fluffier and yummier than regular ol’ Oreo cookies. Or is it just me? I imagine these would be even more yummy with chocolate cake mix and regular Oreo cookies…or Grasshoppers (the mint cookie not the insect)..or peanut butter filled cookies…oh my!
