just because it is free doesn’t mean you should take it.

Have you ever used Craigslist to buy or sell unwanted items? I love it! We have sold 2 trucks, my Dodge Intrepid, a backhoe, trailers, a king size bed, a dining table…all sorts of stuff. I bought P’s twin bed on Craigslist for cheap. You gotta know I hate paying retail and love a bargain. Craigslist is awesome but sometimes it can be a little scary.

While listing a color copier on the “Free” section a few weeks ago for my office, I noticed there was a plethora of goodies listed there. I couldn’t help but notice that there are a lot of toilets and pallets listed. There is also a lot of furniture, lawn furniture, old tv’s,  and appliances. All are items that I would expect to see.

What I didn’t expect to find was some questionable items that begged me to ask, “Really? Is this some kind of joke?”

Just a sampling of items on the Free List:

  • Tampons (new in box) … really glad they are new
  • Boxes of cereal (some opened, some unopened)
  • Baby Formula
  • Plastic Vitamin Water Bottles (empty)
  • Newspapers for composting
  • Empty baby formula cans
  • Clean (empty) egg cartons
  • Most of a skateboard …notice the “most” part

I guess it’s true…one man’s junk is another man’s treasure, I mean trash.
