“He’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women. It’s quite simple: do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, and don’t take yourself too seriously – take God seriously.”
Micah 6:8 ♥
Have you ever said something and wished you could take it back? Wished you had said it differently or more eloquently? Wished you knew the right thing to say at that very moment? I had a conversation with a client today. He asked, “If you could change one thing or do just one thing in this country that would carry throughout the whole country, what would it be.” Well, about 5 things came to mind. He pressed me to say one or two things. I said, “education is high on my list of things to change and God or faith of the country.” Anyhoo, I am not very articulate when put on the spot so it came out kind of haphazardly.
Our school system is a mess, our country has turned away from faith in God, we are more divided than ever before, liars and cheats are being turned into celebrities, and everyone is looking out for “number 1” and forgetting to love thy neighbor. That was what I wanted to say anyway.
Then, tonight, as I was blog-hopping, I read this verse from Micah 6:8. That is what I would have said, if I could take it back. It is everything that I am feeling right now. What our country needs right now: compassion, love, justness.
you said it right girl. If you take God out of the country we will not have a country. Vote for one that believes in God and will quit spending us into more debt.
